3 Coffee Shops to Try in West Columbia

If you feel like you are your family’s unpaid Uber driver, I can empathize. Being the parent with a more flexible work schedule, I’m often on the road transporting my loved ones from morning to night. It can be exhausting. But one thing I look forward to throughout my day are my coffee breaks. I’ve been trekking through West Columbia lately so let me share some of my favorite spots.

1. Koffee Koala

I just recently discovered Koffee Koala and am so happy I did. This is now my go-to morning coffee spot! Koffee Koala is a newer drive-thru only coffee place, but they also offer a variety of breakfast options. Every drink I’ve had from them is delicious. Koffee Koala is conveniently located by I-26 and I-77, so it’s easy to get to.

Address: Koffee Koala is located at 3022 Charleston Hwy, West Columbia

My favorite drink: Hot chocolate caramel mocha with whipped cream

Bonus: You can also order ahead of time online if you are running short on time.

2. The Human Bean

In the afternoon, for an afternoon pick-me-up, I swing by The Human Bean in South Congaree. This is another drive-thru only coffee spot. The staff is always friendly and love to give drink recommendations.

Address: The Human Bean is located at 669 Main St, South Congaree

My favorite drink: Hot Irish Cream Breve

Bonus: Every drink comes with a yummy chocolate covered espresso bean on top for an extra bit-sized caffeine boost!

3. Brickhouse Gourmet Coffee & Tea Co.

Of course, being a mom, my day doesn’t end at 5 p.m. After dropping my daughter off at her evening activities, I like to swing by Brickhouse Gourmet Coffee & Tea Co. They are carryout and dine-in, which gives me a chance to just slow down and enjoy my drink. And that’s perfect because every drink is a blissful combination of premium quality ingredients, and various barista techniques from around the world!

Address: Brickhouse Gourmet Coffee & Tea Co. is located at 725 Meeting St, West Columbia

My favorite drink: Iced white chocolate raspberry latte

Bonus: If too much caffeine in the evening is an issue, try their Iced Matcha Lavender Latte.
