Central Carolina Community Foundation is now accepting scholarship applications through March 5, 2023, for the 2023-2024 school year. More than 230 scholarship opportunities are available, totaling over $550,000. Interested students should visit www.yourfoundation.org/scholarships to view eligibility criteria and complete the online application.
Once students complete the eligibility section of the application, the application will automatically filter scholarships for which the student is eligible. Students must then select the scholarships for which they want to apply. Only one application is needed to apply to multiple scholarships. The median scholarship award is $2,000 and almost half of the opportunities are renewable. All awards are made possible through charitable funds established by generous donors who are committed to furthering the education of the next generation.
“The Community Foundation has more than $550,000 in scholarships this year to increase students’ access to education and help them graduate with less debt,” said Erin Johnson, Vice President, Community Investment. “Using our simple online application process, high school seniors and college students can apply for multiple opportunities with only one application.”
The application requires a copy of the student’s most recent transcript, a personal statement that should not exceed 600 words, contact information for two individuals that will complete a recommendation on behalf of the student, and the family’s 2022 gross household income. If students are awarded a scholarship, they will be notified in May.
Since 1998, the Foundation has awarded more than $5.6 million in scholarships to help deserving students further their education.
