We first fell in love with Mimie’s Delect-A-Bowls at Soda City Market, where for years she and her family have wowed our palates with insanely fresh West African cuisine. Until you’ve tasted it for yourself, there’s really nothing to compare it to!
Mimie herself loads up bowls to the brim with rice, fresh vegetables, flavorful meats, toppings and sauces that really take the flavors to the next level. They also serve homemade cinnamon buns and a variety of fruity, herbal drinks that are perfect for a #famouslyhot South Carolina day.
Now, Mimie and her family have their own restaurant space inside their BP Station near Trotter Road, just down the street from Cottle Strawberry Farm.
Don’t let the location fool you; the food is outstanding as always, and the gas station itself is spotlessly clean and friendly. While there’s no indoor dining space, they set up tables, chairs, and shade outside when the weather is nice. It’s the perfect grab-and-go meal option for a picnic!
One of my favorite dishes is the Avocado Dream Salad, which features mounds of fresh avocado, beans, corn, an array of how-is-this-so-amazing spices, and is served with homemade chips that will haunt your dreams (in a good way).
You can find Mimie’s permanent location at 1002 Rabbit Run in Hopkins, inside the BP gas station. Follow their Facebook page for daily menus and specials!
