Columbia has some of the coolest family friendly eateries around the city. From fancy cuisine such as Halls Chop House, to soulful goodies at Kiki’s Chicken & Waffles, to international favorites of some of the best sushi and handcrafted menus around, you can find something for everyone.

Of course, after every great meal comes a sweet treat, or maybe even before the meal. Wherever your choose to put your dessert, rather before of after the meal, we have one cool spot to bring your entire family where everyone can find their family favorites.

Meet The Baked Bear, located in the well known Five Points area in the middle of some of the great boutiques and unique eateries Columbia has to offer. Catch this place during the evening hours and you may find yourself outside of the door waiting in line to satisfy that sweet tooth, but it is definitely worth the wait.

At The Baked Bear you can enjoy some of the best custom ice cream sandwiches around! There is a large variety of cookie, brownie and topping options to make your sandwich unique and mouth wateringly delicious.

Before you take your first trip to The Baked Bear, here are some tips to make sure you are prepared for your first trip:

  1. Choose your sandwich base: There are tons of cookie options, so whatever you are craving that day, trust me you will find it! Choose from flavors such as cookies & cream, red velvet, Cookie Monster, classic chocolate chip, funfetti, white chocolate, snickledoodle, and, one of my favorites, gooey butter cake! Aside from cookie options, there are also decadently delicious brownies.
  2. Choose your ice cream: Next, you’re off to your ice cream selection. Yum!! Ice cream flavors range from vanilla, mint chip, coffee, and salted caramel, to cookies and cream. So many options to choose from that you will want to keep coming back!
  3. Choose your toppings: No dessert is complete without toppings! As the old saying goes, you need to have “the icing on the cake.” Grab tons of toppings from hot fudge to kids favorites like sprinkles and candy.
  4. Last, it’s time to press it! You can get your sandwich served hot or eat it just like it comes, either way, be ready for one fun treat!!

We have visited The Baked Bear enough that we have learned that a sandwich is enough for two people to share. So pick your favorite flavors and share it with your favorite person!

The Baked Bear is a perfect outing for family fun, a cute date spot for you and your significant other, and a great escape from mom life after a long week. Plus, who can resist a place where the mission is to spread joy and create memories, bringing a smile to every customers face one ice cream sandwich at a time?
