Columbia Mom EATS :: Transmission Arcade

Welcome back to Columbia Mom EATS!

I hope that you and your family are staying well and safe during this crazy time, as well as still finding ways to support local businesses

As for my family and myself, we are still carefully social-distancing, wearing masks anytime we’re in public, and staying home as much as possible. However, we’ve also been making an effort to support local businesses (especially by eating delicious local FOOD) almost every day!

HOW, you may ask?

Well for one, we are taking full advantage of local restaurants that offer curbside-takeout, drive-through, and delivery options. We are not yet comfortable eating IN a restaurant, but that’s no reason to go without a fabulous meal.

So as we re-launch Columbia Mom EATS, I’ll be focusing on local spots that are working incredibly hard to offer SAFE, outstanding service to the community during these crazy times. And I hope you enjoy!!

One of the newest cool-kids on the block is Transmission Arcade, located at 1712 Main Street in downtown Columbia. I’ve been eagerly awaiting Transmission’s grand opening for over a year after getting a taste of their pinball machines and classic arcade games at pop-ups around town. They’ve finally opened for business as a power-couple with Smokey Loggins, arguably the most artful creator of smoked wings in the known universe.

Currently, they are offering carryout and curbside-takeaway Wednesday – Saturday from 4 p.m. – 10 p.m. So far, we have sampled the Banh Mi, the Al Pastor Plate, and the fried Brussels sprouts, all of which were absolutely delicious. (The smoked pineapple was so lovely I nearly cried. I’m not even kidding.) And of course, you cannot beat the smoked wings. They are *chef’s kiss* magic.

Stay safe out there friends, and keep EATING LOCAL!

Have you tried Transmission Arcade? What’s your favorite thing on the menu?
