I don’t know about you, but I go in phases with items I am really into at certain times. Sometimes it’s a specific lip gloss or makeup item. Other times it’s a cozy sweater or a new pair of shoes. No matter what the item is, there are always a few things I’m loving at the moment.
I’ve always enjoyed a good gel nail polish manicure because they last a lot longer than regular polish. But, I haven’t always liked the brands I’ve used. Until now. I recently discovered the Gelish brand, and it is now my favorite. In fact, I went to Sally Beauty the other day and bought like 8 different colors (on clearance!). Gelish currently has a great lineup of bright summer colors (available on Amazon at the link above) to choose from. If you’ve never used a gel nail polish before, here are some things you’ll need:
- Gel nail polish UV light
- Gel base coat
- Gel color
- Gel top coat
When I first heard about the THINX period underwear, I was VERY skeptical. The thought of only wearing underwear that supposedly absorbed everything, and not using feminine products was daunting. I wasn’t sure if THINX would actually work or not. Fast forward to last month when my best friend gifted me a pair. (I know it seems like a weird gift, but she had extra FSA money to use up and decided to try some for herself, and give me a pair as well. It works.) I tried them out when I had my next cycle, but because I was still skeptical, I tried them on a day I could stay home and not go out. Just in case. Well, turns out they work. And they work REALLY WELL! I was amazed and how much absorption they had, and there was absolutely no odor! I like them so much, I’m planning to buy some more. I encourage you to give them a try too. Think of how much money you could save on buying feminine products!
I started using essential oils a few months ago and was using them topically, but hadn’t started diffusing them yet. Well, I found a great deal on a diffuser this last Amazon Prime Day, and am now happily diffusing amazing scents into our house each day. And I LOVE it! I enjoy candles but don’t burn them often because my cat likes to get a little too close to the flame for comfort. But diffusing essential oils provides me that same pleasant aroma floating around my house. And, I can get more variety in scents with oils than candles. Want to help your kids doze off to sleep at night? Diffuse some lavender! Want to make your kitchen smell nice? Diffuse a citrus scent! So many options!
Summertime means watermelon. Lots of watermelon! I don’t know about you, but I hate cutting watermelon. It seems to take forever no matter how you cut it (triangles, cubes, etc.), and it can get pretty messy. Well, I recently went to a friend’s house for lunch, and we had watermelon. She was like, “Let me show you this great new kitchen gadget I got to cut watermelon. It’s so easy!” She was not kidding! This watermelon slicer is fantastic! You just cut the watermelon in half, cut the end off, then slide the slicer through, and it cuts the watermelon into rectangle pieces. So easy! I immediately put it on my Amazon wish list and then ordered when I got home.
I am a very organized person. The way I’m able to stay so organized is by writing everything down on our calendar. But I realized that I needed not just a monthly/weekly schedule, but a daily schedule as well. It helps my boys know what’s on tap each day. I wanted to make our daily schedule board a fun one, so the boys could be involved with it as well. I bought an LED light board and some chalk markers to use. Each night I write our schedule for the next day and hang it on its spot on the kitchen wall. Then it’s there for all of us to see and remember what’s going on each day. It’s so much fun! The boys love helping me write the daily schedule and/or drawing pictures to go along with it. And it lights up, so that makes it more enjoyable as well. You can use an LED board and chalk markers in so many ways! Schedule board, homework board, grocery list…whatever speaks to you!
