Columbia Parks :: Leo's Landing

Columbia proudly boasts many fantastic parks and playgrounds – including Leo’s Landing! Saluda Shoals in Irmo is one of my personal favorites. Hidden within it’s grounds is a three acre inclusive playground that is perfect for family fun, Leo’s Landing. Leo’s Landing has honestly become a favorite of ours. It’s a bit of a drive from our home in Forest Acres, but it’s truly worth it every time!

What We Love About Leo’s Landing

My absolute favorite part is the bathrooms! I know all you parents understand. As a mom with a newborn and two toddlers, we ALWAYS need family friendly bathrooms for potty breaks, blowout cleanups, and quick wardrobe changes. Not only are the bathrooms clean and spacious, but they are accessible for kiddos and caregivers alike.

My family also loves how spacious it is. There is plenty of space to run and roll around, along with a large variety of play structures. I also love that they’ve included spaces that intentionally encourage imaginative play, like the little Hobbit Village. I’ve taken kiddos anywhere from newborn to 11 years old to this park and there are spaces for all of them to get in some good, fun physical activity.

Lastly, is not only an inclusive playground for children, but it also boasts features that address the needs of adults with physical disabilities too. It truly is a place EVERYONE can enjoy!

Saluda Shoals itself also features a wetlands preserve, miles of paved and unpaved trails, a splash pad (in warmer months) and much more, so you can really make a day out of your visit.
