Alright guys, shows of hands – who eats their body weight in food more than once in the two months leading up to the new year??
*raises both hands*
Or perhaps you are one of those “self controlled” humans I have heard so much about; not unlike the beautiful unicorn or children who fall asleep when their heads touch the pillow. I will go ahead and tell you all that I am not one of those people. In fact, I have learned that the more I try to watch my food portions, the more I devour…most unfortunate situation….but I digress.
What am I going on about, you ask?
A solution! Eat what you want, walk (or run) it off, all while benefiting your community and local charities! That’s right, I’m suggesting you join your fellow man and become one of those 5k holiday families.
I am speaking from experience when I tell you it’s actually totally fun. If you want to walk and sip mimosas or apple cider spiked with Fireball, no one is judging you. I am here to tell you that you CAN be a 5k holiday family AND a drink at dawn kind of holiday family. Have your cake and eat it too people!
Below you will find a list of local holiday 5Ks. I am currently signed up for the BGCM Turkey Day race benefiting the Boys & Girls Club of the Midlands. Push-lease come on out and join me, or choose another and give back to your community while also benefiting yourself! In this crazy mom life we live, one cannot afford to not be multitasking AM I RIGHT?!
Check. It. Out.
