Mom Seasons

Like the bare trees of winter, having a newborn can strip us down to our essence.

Like nourishing springtime rain, a toddler may pelt us with many curious questions to quench their thirst for knowledge of their new world.

Like the sweet camaraderie of picnic baskets, watermelon, boiled peanuts, laughter, splashing, and friends at Lake Murray’s beach with hot summer sand in our toes, preschoolers may delight us with their innocence and the freedom it brings.

Like the falling fire-colored leaves in autumn, parents may find as their children mature we must learn to let go a little.

Motherhood includes a cycle of seasons, all meant to teach us how to be a better parent and better person. All seasons have their ups and downs…but none are permanent, only the lessons they teach us remain. We move on through the cycle repeatedly, time passing giving us chances again and again.

So teach your children to run like the great north winter wind, sing happy praises like a springtime songbird, shine like the summer lightening bugs, and dance the delicate ballet of golden falling leaves.

Go out there with them, intertwine your laughter, curiosity, and love with theirs. Our lives on this Earth is just a blink in time. Children grow up faster than you think. Grab your little ones in the moment and sing, dance, love, laugh, run, and LIVE LIFE to your very best. Your actions help teach your children how to be happy.

Hug these precious moments into your heart until you imprint your soul with their memories. The sweet breezes lift and carry the good part of our humanity for the Universe and God to hear, for these are building blocks of Heaven.
