Normal Phase or Actual Obsession?

So it’s totally normal for my child to be obsessed with the movie Frozen, right?

Like utterly obsessed?!

“Anna, Elsa, Olaf” are the first words out of her mouth as soon as she is awake. She randomly repeats it throughout the day; she demands to see Anna all the time. I have never seen her like this with any type of character or toy before. She has liked Sesame Street, The Wiggles, and Peppa Pig so far, but she is totally into Frozen like nothing before!

I’m a mom to a zany, independent girl who just turned two. She is just getting to the stage where she is really enjoying and interacting with the world around her; trips to the zoo and other places are different for her now, which is so fun to see.

Her newly appreciated zest for life also applies to videos, movies, and TV, which is challenging at times. It’s so strange to think of my childhood and imagine having smartphones or having access to the technology that is available to children today.

As with anything, I moderate her time spent on these activities. It is tough to moderate myself at times (endless scrolling…). Balance is the goal! I also asked my mom when I started acting out Disney scenes because I totally expect that in the near future! I was notorious for acting out scenes where Snow White bit into her poisoned apple and pretty much everything from Beauty and the Beast.

While my daughter may be obsessed with Elsa, Anna, and Olaf, it is incredibly fun to watch her imagination run wild.

What is your two-year-old currently obsessed with?
