PlantHouse Columbia :: A Paradise on Earth for All Plant Lovers!

0

I love plants and flowers. Always have. Growing up, I was either in my Italian grandmother’s kitchen cooking and baking, or in her garden doing some gardening with her.

My grandmother had the most beautiful garden outside, but she also always had houseplants as well. My mother always had plants in our house too. So, I’ve always been surrounded by the beauty of plants and flowers, and have grown to love and appreciate them more and more over the years.

Because of my love for plants, I was over the moon when I discovered PlantHouse. It is a plant lovers dream! PlantHouse not only sells houseplants and pots for purchase, but you can also build your own plant terrarium, and attend one of many workshops for both adults and children.

I recently attended one of their Succulent and Sangria workshops, and had a blast! The moment I walked through the door, a smile crept onto my face and it didn’t leave the whole night. There was just something about being immersed in between all those beautiful plants and unique overhead lighting that gave me so much peace and joy! And the delicious Sangria may have helped too.

At the back of PlantHouse are tables set up for the workshops. Behind the tables is a wall of plants for you to choose for your terrarium.

Included with this particular workshop was the terrarium globe, four plants, soil, rocks, and different decorations to enhance your terrarium. You (and whoever attends the workshop with you) will be placed at a table with other attendees. My friend and I had fun chatting with the other people at our table as we created our terrariums and sipped our Sangria. (Alcohol is sold at PlantHouse for your enjoyment, but is not included in the price of the workshop. It is a separate fee.)

An employee from PlantHouse will walk you through creating your terrarium one step at a time. They provide all the tools and supplies you will need. This includes special tools to pick up and handle the cacti so that you don’t get the spikes into your fingers and hand.

I had so much fun creating my terrarium, and now it sits proudly in the center of my kitchen table. I can’t wait for the chance to go back to PlantHouse for another workshop! PlantHouse workshops are great for a girls night out, date night, or something fun to do with your kids.

They offer a variety of terrarium workshops as well as wreath making, moss walls, Kokedama, and bonsai tree planting. There are also special themed workshops like their “May the 4th” workshop for all you Star Wars fans out there. Kids will enjoy workshops such as their “Adventure Terrarium” workshop and Kids Jellyfish Terrarium

So, if you’re a plant lover like me, be sure to check out PlantHouse!
