I know my mama friends out there are already gearing up for summer plans for their kiddos. What’s out there to keep them busy and social? What’s out there to keep me from losing my mind?! Columbia Mom does a fantastic job of getting that information out there. So, I wanted to mention one that’s near and dear to my heart-The Columbia Fireflies.
I might be a little biased, as my husband works there, however, I do think they are truly one of the best family-friendly venues in Columbia. They’re affordable, for one. You can purchase a berm ticket for just $5. As a mama with a very active boy, the berm is where you want to be. The kids can run around, sit in the grass, and you don’t have to feel like you’re disturbing anyone in regular seats. You can also easily walk over to the Kids Zone, which is filled with bounce houses and other fun inflatable activities. Plus, there’s a really great bar on the berm … just saying.
The Fireflies are always looking to better themselves on how they can be more accommodating to families. And how they can make this a great family experience without a huge price tag while making sure there’s something for everyone, even if you’re not a sports fan. Plus, they offer fun events throughout the year for families like trick or treating, breakfast with Santa, and more.
One of the best deals you can find is their 2022 Neon Kids Club. It’s for kiddos 12 and under. It is an insanely good deal, and even if you only attended a handful of games for the summer, it would pay for itself. It’s $35 each for in-person packet pickup. The price is $45 if you want your items shipped.
Here is everything that’s included in each membership:
•1 Berm ticket for every Fireflies home game (a $5 value for every game you attend)
•20 tickets to the Kids Zone for every home game (a $20 value for every game you attend)
•A swag pack for new members and a renewal gift for returning members
•Exclusive enter to win contests through the baseball season

So, for every game you attend it’s a $25 value. If you plan on attending more than one game, you’re coming out ahead. And there are 66 home games, so you could come out way ahead if you really wanted to!
Birthday parties are also a great thing to look into. They include tickets, food and drink, cake, hats, kids zone tickets, video board announcement, and gifts for the birthday child.
The Fireflies are currently working hard to make sure their ballpark is fun for ALL, and that includes those with special needs and sensory struggles. It’s all still in the works, but it’s what I am the most excited about and most proud of.
