The Passion Behind Hippie Chick Granola {Giveaway and Coupon Code!}

I met Ilene Evans exactly one year ago at Bloggy Boot Camp in Charlotte. She and I had become friends through the blogging world, and we hit it off in person.

Ilene Evans, the owner of Hippie Chick Granola, turned her passion into a business.

We have become even closer over the last year as Ilene’s life has taken some drastic changes. She and her husband separated, and she moved with her three children from New Jersey to Oak Island, NC. She did not know what the future held, but she had a place to stay and looked forward to starting her new life in Oak Island.

Ilene is a single mother of three. Late in 2012, Ilene needed cash, so she took her prized homemade granola recipe to the streets. She sold it to family and friends out of the trunk of her car for people to use as Christmas gifts.

Hippie Chick Granola is so good, people were knocking on Ilene’s door to buy more!

Her granola was a giant hit! After the holiday season was over, people kept knocking on her door for more.

She loved to make homemade granola, and her friends and family always told her it was amazing. Once she moved to Oak Island, she began to pursue her dream to open up her own granola store.

And that she did! Hippie Chick Granola Co. began with one prized granola recipe that a woman sold out of the trunk of her car. Thanks to a dream, a love of wholesome, delicious foods, and Ilene’s desire to share that love with the world, Hippie Chick Granola Co. was born.

In early 2014, Ilene opened the doors to her storefront on Oak Island, NC, where she bakes and sells a variety of granola blends both in her store and online. Ilene believes that every experience we have in life, including the food we eat, should be memorable. She hopes that by sharing her granola with you, she’ll bring something good to your table, as well as your day.

Hippie Chick Granola is amazing. I have eaten eight bags of the granola (with only a little bit of help from my daughter) since Ilene started selling just a couple months ago.
