The overall studio is absolutely gorgeous. Located in a historic building on Gervais Street, the facility has the perfect mix of old charm and modern décor. I felt relaxed and pampered – everything you’d want in a couple of hours you have time to slip away for by yourself. I love too that they offered bottled water and wine, and would have had a glass if I could, but was not recommended prior to the treatments I was about to receive – but I’ll definitely keep it in mind next time I return! Also, I enjoyed the fact that I was offered a personal room to change into a plush robe and comfy slippers, truly leaving mom life behind for a bit.

I have to admit, looking over a list of services offered can be confusing. Do I really need my skin tightened? Is a hydro facial for me? Before my appointment I sat down and filled out a questionnaire about myself and my family history, which is important to ensure the services received are right for you. Then I met with a professional skin care consultant who went over my form and explained what I could expect with the Eclipse Red Carpet Facial, which is a synergy of the SkinTyte BBL procedure by the Sciton Joule laser, providing stimulation of the very cells, fibroblasts, that produce collagen, elastin, and glycosaminogylcans (water binders and skin plumpers) This is paired with facial cryotherapy for serious pore tightening and skin rejuvenation, along with a stem cell infusion at the end of the treatment.
After evaluating my skin, along with the esthetician who would be preforming my services, they were able to let me know I actually did not need skin tightening (regardless of what my post-40 self tells me). So we opted to swap out that component for a laser treatment that helps remove age spots and skin scaring, which I didn’t have a TON of, but nonetheless there were some areas that could use attention.
Knowledgeable and Friendly Staff
From the moment I walked in, everyone made me feel comfortable and at ease, especially my esthetician. She explained everything she was doing each step of the way, and answered all my follow up questions about skin care in general and what would work best for my skin type after my visit. She was so easy to talk to that our conversation flowed naturally from skin care, to family life, to the history of the historic building Pura is located in throughout my service. While I’m normally someone who enjoys some quiet time (because let’s face it, mom life is LOUD), I really enjoyed our conversation and it felt more like talking to an old friend than someone I just met.
And her knowledgebase – WOW. I know estheticians have to know their stuff, but it was obvious skin care is a true passion and she takes her profession seriously by staying up to date on the latest technology and ensuring she is skilled in those areas to best serve her clients. I liked too that she has experienced the treatments herself, so she was able to tell me what the laser would feel like before she applied it to my skin.

I was able to pick my own aromatherapy to create the perfect soothing mood, and as she begin the facial I could feel my stress fading away. It also felt good to be doing something JUST FOR ME … something that was benefiting my skin in the log run. I can honestly say in the days following, I have never felt my skin softer or smoother.
