Christmas Movie Marathon :: 13 Flicks to Add to Your Family’s List

0

The Christmas season has been a challenge for us this year, just as it has been for many of you. We have decorated our home, and have even managed to have a few gifts under the tree. Our tradition of opening and wearing matching pajamas on Christmas Eve will still go off without a hitch (thankfully there were some really good sales on pajamas). My daughter does not believe in Santa, so a silver lining has been not having to constantly remind her to not spoil Santa for others that DO believe.

Not being able to have our big family gather and watch Christmas movies, and drink hot cocoa has put a damper on our spirits, but we are pressing on. This year, instead of our usual busy shenanigans, we will stay in and have multiple Christmas movie marathons.

Our plan is to have a non-traditional Christmas dinner of lasagna, salad, and garlic bread. (My favorite lasagna recipe comes from The Pioneer Woman.) But leading up to Christmas, we will watch all of our favorite movies (with our favorite snacks).

At the top of our movie list is Home Alone. This is the first year my seven-year-old daughter has shown interest in this movie. The first thing she said was “Why are they so mean to Kevin?” They were incredibly mean to him. So, we made that into a learning moment for our children; we learned lessons on how not to treat each other with this one.

Here are the Christmas movies on our marathon list

  • Home Alone Series
  • Jingle Jangle
  • How the Grinch Stole Christmas
  • Klaus
  • The Christmas Chronicles
  • This Christmas
  • Noelle
  • A Christmas Story
  • The Polar Express
  • The Nutcracker and the Four Realms
  • Merry Liddle Christmas Wedding
  • Feliz NaviDAD
  • Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch Musical
