I don’t know about you, but I LOVE Asian cuisine! It is one of my favorite types of food to eat. And, fortunately, here in Columbia, we have some fabulous Asian restaurants. Today, I’m going to share with you my absolute favorite one.
929 Kitchen and Bar is a cozy little restaurant and bar in the Vista. They serve authentic, mouthwatering Korean food, that will keep you coming back for more! Some of their dishes include Korean favorites such as Kimchi, Japchae noodles, Bibimbap, Udon noodles, stir fry, and more!
They also serve their own specialties, such as spicy squid and pork belly stir fry, seafood stone bowl bibimbap, pork katsu, and soy braised black cod. Plus, they have a variety of delicious appetizers. You really can’t go wrong with any of it!
929 is a great place for family meals. Not sure if your child(ren) will like Korean food? No problem! They offer a few different options for kids, like chicken nuggets and French fries. In addition to that, you’ll notice that the kid’s water is special. Each water is served in a special pouch (think a Capri Sun but larger and clear), and inside that pouch is a light-up ice cube. So fun! My boys thought it was the coolest thing. Oh, and guess what…your kids can take the light-up ice cube home!
Now, let’s talk dessert…have you ever tried Korean Hotteok? It is a chewy deep-fried Korean pancake filled with cinnamon, brown sugar, and peanut filling, and boy, is it delicious! They serve the Hotteok with ice cream on top, but I could eat it all by itself! Mmmm…They also offer a few traditional desserts, such as cheesecake and a tiramisu crepe.
You’ll find 929 Kitchen and Bar at 929 Gervais Street in the Vista. They are open for indoor dining, as well as online orders. Hours are as follows:

They are also opening up a new restaurant and cafe this year across from Market on Main, which will feature offerings from Korean BBQ, lunch specialties, and a bakery concept. We can’t WAIT to try it out!
