Moms For Moms Day

3

Did you cloth diaper your baby? Are you strictly a disposable diaper type of mama? Regardless of your decisions, it doesn’t make your choices better than another parent’s. In an attempt to end the “mommy wars” that are all to prevalent in the mothering community, Moms for Moms Day was created. On Tuesday, March 4, mothers across the country are encouraged to share their “mommy truths” in a safe and supportive environment, as well show love and support for other moms whose parenting choices may be different than yours.

Being a mom is hard enough without dealing with the judgment of others, and we as a blog team are super excited about being involved with an amazing cause that helps lift each other up rather than tearing us down. Learn more about this initiative below and join us in this uniting experience where YOU can help make a difference!

This initiative was put together by The Bump and CT Working Moms. The vision behind Moms For Moms Day is…

The journey to motherhood is flooded with decisions (from the type of diapers you’ll buy, to the ways you’ll feed your infant, to the sleep-training methods you’ll subscribe to) and our goal is to support, encourage and stand behind each and every mother’s choices — and Moms for Moms Day is our way of putting an end to the judgments that moms make toward one another.

You can read more about the day and how you can get involved here.

We here at Columbia SC Moms Blog LOVE this idea and want to do whatever we can to support this initiative. From the beginning, we have desired to foster a community for moms that supports ALL moms no matter what their parenting choices may look like. So we are jumping on board!

So how are we getting involved?? And how would we love for YOU to get involved??

Send us your pictures!

To join us in this effort to encourage one another and support all moms, snap a picture holding your sign sharing messages of love and support. Take a picture with just yourself or grab a girlfriend or two and snap away! When posting the pictures (to Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter…or all three!), please use #moms4moms and #colascmomsblog so we can see them and watch the movement grow!

Also, we’d love for you send your pictures to us at [email protected]. We will compile all the pictures into a photo gallery that will be part of our Moms For Moms blog post on March 4 and be sharing them via social media throughout the day!

No time to make your own sign? The Bump to the rescue! Check out their free printable templates. Super simple!

Show the world that moms in the Columbia area are determined to support each other! So let’s unite and “love more and judge less”!

Tiffany Nettles
Tiffany traded in back-to-back business meetings and PowerPoint presentations, for sippy cups and play dates – leaving her corporate job behind to become a stay at home mom to her 16-month-old toddler. To say life is different is an understatement, and she now has a new found love and respect for the “hardest” (and best!) job she’s ever had. A native South Carolinian, Tiffany is best described as kind-hearted and friendly, with a quick sense of humor. When she’s not toting her little one around town to the latest kid friendly activity, you can find her enjoying a latte at Drip, catching up on the latest celebrity gossip magazines, or watching old reruns of Beverly Hills 90210 from the early 90′s. She received her Masters Degree in Integrated Communications from the University of South Carolina in 2007, and enjoys reading, writing and all things "mom."
